Today we are celebrating Neken Chuwang, the gospel star from Jos, Plateau State, whose songs like Taimako Na and Har Abada continue to inspire fans across Nigeria.
With over 11 years in music and more than 23 releases, Neken has become one of the most consistent voices in northern gospel and Afro-fusion.
His journey from starting with nothing to building a studio for upcoming Jos artists shows his heart for giving back.
From Taimako Na to Har Abada
Neken Chuwang is best known for his hit Taimako Na, where he sings in Hausa and English about where his help comes from.
The lyrics, Daga wurin Ubangiji ne, meaning My help comes from the Lord, have made the song an anthem in churches across Plateau and beyond.
My boast is not in wealth or position, my boast is in Jesus name - that message is what Neken's music carries.
Building For Jos Artists
Beyond music, Neken is working to launch a live audio and video studio in Jos to support underprivileged artists who cannot afford recording costs.
He has openly shared that he started with nothing and producers helped him for free, and now he wants to create that same opportunity for others.
Why We Celebrate Him
From Beautiful and Focus to Ba Abin da Ya Fi Karfin Ka, I Lift My Hands, and We Don Dey Old featuring MoxieYaro, his songs blend faith, nostalgia and everyday life.
Neken Chuwang represents Plateau pride and proves that Jos music can reach the world while staying rooted in gospel values.
