Tems – Love Is A Kingdom EP

Tems Love Is A Kingdom EP is Out - Full Tracklist & Stream

Nigerian Grammy-winning superstar Tems has returned with a surprise new project titled Love Is A Kingdom EP, released on November 21, 2025 via RCA Records / Since 93.

This 7-track body of work marks Tems' first solo project since her critically acclaimed debut album Born In The Wild (2024), which earned her global recognition, multiple Grammy nominations, and a growing cult of fans who connect deeply with her spiritual and soulful sound.

Running for a concise yet powerful 19 minutes 58 seconds, Love Is A Kingdom is written, composed, and produced almost entirely by Tems herself - a testament to her evolution not just as a vocalist but as a complete sonic architect.

The Theme: Love, Power and Spiritual Clarity

Unlike her previous projects that leaned heavily on heartbreak and self-discovery, Love Is A Kingdom explores the intersection of love, power, femininity, and spiritual clarity. In this EP, Tems positions love not as a weakness but as a kingdom - a territory to be ruled, guarded, and defined on her own terms.

The project was created during a period of isolation and prayer, resulting in a stripped, intimate, and raw collection that feels both altar-like and royal.

Focus Track: Big Daddy & What You Need Video

The focus track Big Daddy has already become a fan favorite. On the track, Tems confronts an unreliable lover with calm authority. Over minimalist drums and haunting keys, she sings with a quiet fire.

Another standout is What You Need, which already has an official visual. If you missed it, watch the official video here: Tems - What You Need (Official Video). The video perfectly captures the mood of the EP - soft, spiritual, and powerful.

Production and Sound

Love Is A Kingdom stays true to Tems' signature sound - deep basslines, atmospheric textures, and her unmistakable alto. However, there is more experimentation this time. The production is intentionally minimal, allowing her voice to be the main instrument. With no major features, the EP is a solo statement. This is Tems in her purest form.

Fans of Sade, Lauryn Hill, and Frank Ocean will find a familiar intimacy here - music that doesn't rush, music that heals.

Why This EP Matters

After the global success of Born In The Wild, many expected Tems to chase bigger commercial hits. Instead, she chose depth. Love Is A Kingdom is not trying to top charts by formula; it is trying to touch souls. It reinforces why Tems is regarded as one of the most authentic voices in Afrobeats and R&B today.

The project has already sparked conversations online, with fans praising her growth, her bravery to self-produce, and her ability to make short projects feel complete.

Conclusion

Whether you have been following Tems since Mr Rebel or discovered her through Essence, Love Is A Kingdom EP is a reminder of why she stands alone. Seven songs, twenty minutes, one kingdom - ruled entirely by Tems.
